2020 #30- UP CLOSE & PERSONAL W/ AUTHOR ASHLEY SILVER

Ashley Silver is an author and public relations professional from Birmingham, Alabama who has been writing since she was 8 years of age. She graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2012, where she acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Public Relations. In 2017, Silver received a Master's Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations from Kent State University.

In 2018, Ashley Silver published her first book entitled "Choices" through Amazon. She released her second novel "Autoscopy" in May 2020 at Barnes and Noble. Since her “Autoscopy” book release, Silver has been featured on several media platforms including news epicenter Al.com and the Detroit Book City’s digital book fair. She was also a guest on Author Ndeye Laben’s news platform. She hopes to accomplish three goals with her new novel:

1.       CREATE a correlation between the issues we are facing today and the in-depth mental impact of slavery on American history.

2.       INSPIRE others to live their true purpose despite adversity in order to conquer the road less taken.

3.       DIVERSIFY the science-fiction genre and open a new literary avenue for African Americans with the fusion of sci-fi, action, history and romance.

Silver currently works in internal communications at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. When she is not writing, she enjoys spending her days with her husband Larry Silver, who designed the cover for “Autoscopy”, and their small Shih-Tzu, Reo.
