(24) OF 122 FEATURED BLACK AUTHOR FROM AROUND THE WORLD MEET AUTHOR Pamela Lawson

A Talladega, Alabama native, Pamela Lawson received her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley. The second book, Rogue Ravenisha is well underway, and there are plans for a third installment, tentatively titled Revenge of the Ravenisha.
Pamela has been a fan of horror since childhood: staying up many a weekend watching creature features and reading books written by authors, such as Edgar Allen Poe and Mary Shelley. Pamela’s literary interests are far-ranging, from authors such as Stephen King, Anne Rice, PD James, Walter Mosley, James Lee Burke, Kathy Reichs, and Louise Penny to James Baldwin and Zora Neale Hurston.
Pamela lives in Northern California with her two felines, Ferg and Nikos. A horse-crazy/8 adult, she dabbles in dressage.

Book synopsis:
Rise of the Ravenisha
Fantasy Novel
By P. Grace Lawson

This story tells the tale of an ancient tribe of Dahomey warrior women who, having made a deal with the dark spirit La Panthère Noire, developed the ability to shapeshift into black panthers. They and their queen, Idia, lived in the mountains among the Fon for centuries until Idia betrayed her closest friends, selling them to America as slaves under false pretenses and ulterior motives. The story picks up in the present-day southern United States, where the women, now known as Old Generation Ravenisha, have decided the time has come for them to rise up and free themselves from the bondage of their past.

A F R I C A N A M E R I C A N C H R I S T I A N F I C T I O N A U T H O R how it

began

I was an avid reader. In fact, I would say “I like the drama in my books and not in my life”. My dream of being a writer faded away because I was told that I would be a starving artist and would not be able to take care of myself if I wrote books. So I went to college but I maintained my love for reading. Fast forward some years, my pastor told me if I would throw out all of my books God had a blessing for me. ( I had ZANE and autographed Eric Jerome Dickey’s books, you name it I had it.) I cried but I did what she said. For a couple of years, I stop reading. Which honestly wasn’t bad because I was convicted in my spirit after bible study. I was reading street fiction and erotica after praying God would deliver me from a sin-filled. One day while preparing for a flight I was looking for something to read. I found Christian Fiction and fell so deep in love with it that I started a blog. In a very short time (like months) my blog caught the eye of a publisher and my first book was published. I published 7 books with the company. In 2020 I started my own Press- Light and Salt Press LLC and began publishing as an independent author.

The Flawed but Faithful Series Walking Crooked with Christ

Jas’Mia knows God, but she also knows death, loneliness, struggle, and pain.

Jas’Mia thinks she has lost the love of her life, Bobby, to Shelby, the woman he has decided to marry. Jas’Mia seems to have

lost everything, but soon blessings appear. Carlos is everything a woman could want in a Godly man. Money falls like rain and washes her struggles away but doing the right thing is not easy to do when wrong feels right. Can Jas’Mia walk with Christ if her steps are crooked?

This was a well-written story of God's love and redemption. I enjoyed seeing Jas'Mia's progression throughout the book. Shelby was a real piece of work. I enjoyed this book as well as Rue's story. I am excited to see if there are more stories with this cast

of characters.

Author Tanisha Stewart

(20) OF 122 FEATURED AUTHOR FROM AROUND THE WORLD (authors supporting authors) MEET AUTHOR Rachel Quigley

I grew up traveling the country with my family for years. During those travels, we ministered to and helped many hurting people.

My life now shares that same dedication and focus to lift up the fallen. As someone who has had an eventful journey in this life, I wanted to find an interesting way to tell people that there is always hope and, in my heart, I feel Star Falcon shows that.

I'm a stay-at-home mom who has two incredible children, and a husband that lifts me up by supporting my dreams as we work together in the ministry. My focus in life is to please my Saviour and be the mighty woman God intended me to be without apology.

I'm a firm believer in Christian womanhood, and the power God gives us to change the world. My world view is that all of us have a path God has put us on from birth, but how we walk that path is up to us. We are only as strong as our faith, and where that faith lies determines our outlook on life. Look up.

– Dorothy Hall , Ocala, FL.

“Participating in Precious’s seminar on “Trust Issues” help me to identify the root cause of the mindset that I couldn’t trust other women. “Reading Precious’s blog and hearing her speak to the women of my congregation on the topic “Men Hurt Too” made me realize that because of the image that society has portrayed women don’t really realize the pain men actually carry and the importance of being able to share with your mate so she know how to help you through the healing process.”
