Tamera Foley, Ph.D.

Independent Consultant

Tamera Foley is an Independent Consultant for Education 4 All Now LLC. Dr. Foley began her professional career in education over 30 years ago. She has conducted training in various areas of education.

As a lifelong learner, she has presented to students in Limon, Costa Rica, through an invitation from the United States Embassy. Dr. Foley spent a month exploring special education supports and services in Hungary and the Czech Republic through a Fulbright Scholarship. She has worked supporting the schools where she was an administrator in the area of literacy as well as academic evaluations of students with disabilities. Dr. Foley assisted with implementing the Reading First grant while serving as a Principal.

Dr. Foley has previously worked as an executive director of teaching and learning, director of secondary special education, and principal and teacher. She worked directly with students with disabilities as well as the at-risk population. Dr. Foley has been a mentor and a coach to former teachers throughout her career. She has advocated for literacy, ensuring that all students were provided an opportunity to improve academically.

Dr. Foley has led district initiatives such as the implementation of the school-based health center-The Family Health Center at North Clayton High School, the Asthma Friendly School Initiative, Positive Behavior Interventions, and Supports, Implementation of Kurzweil to improve student and parent literacy, dropout prevention, literacy, and others initiatives that had a direct impact on the teaching and learning of students in Clayton County Public Schools.

Dr. Foley has also worked in Mental Health for the State of Alabama Department of Mental Health in Developmental Disabilities. She leads a Facebook Group entitled Support for Children in Trauma. She has recently published seven books with Garwell Publishing, an agency she owns, helping self-published authors take their ideas from a manuscript to becoming a published author. In 2019, Co-Author of Congratulations Graduate! You Have Arrived At The Beach and in 2020, Author of Cassie’s Big Change How COVID-19 Changed The Way We Learn, 2021, Author of Cassie’s Big Change: Going from the Living Room to the Classroom and Cassie’s Big Change Coloring and Activity Book. She will publish in early 2022 Exploring My Emotions: A

45-Day Journal for Elementary School-Age Children, Healing Trauma: Affirmation Journal for Teens and Tweens: The Power of Positive Affirmations, 2023, and Healing Trauma Affirmation Journal for Adults, 2023. She is currently working on expanding her children’s series in 2024.

Dr. Foley was an educational source for ThinkInclusive.us’ article, “What to Do When the School Wants to Remove IEP Services,” in 2020. She has also been interviewed on the radio, podcasts, and other media for her trauma and social and emotional learning work. Dr. Foley is passionate about her work with and for students and advocates for all students.

Dr. Foley has been on many podcasts and radio shows, national and international, sharing information about trauma, and social-emotional learning through books.
