The Original Chasing Your Dream Book Tour & Expo Returns to Empower Authors, Poets, and Business Owners




Dallas/Fort Worth Area, May TBA, 24 - The highly anticipated AAALAC- African American Authors Literacy Awareness Campaign is thrilled to announce the exciting comeback of the Original Chasing Your Dream Book Tour & Expo. Created by visionary Angela Thomas (Smith), this groundbreaking event has been an empowering and uplifting platform for authors of color for the past seven years.




Since its establishment in 2016, AAALAC has been dedicated to bringing attention to the incredible talent of Black and Brown authors across America and around the world, while simultaneously fighting against illiteracy on a global scale. Through the Chasing Your Dream Book Tour & Expo, which includes events like Dinner with an Author, Brunch & Books, and Poets in Da Park, AAALAC sets out to equip authors with the essential tools and knowledge to thrive as successful Authorpreneurs, going beyond the traditional roles of being mere vendors at events.




At each tour stop, attendees can expect a diverse range of enlightening break-out sessions featuring expert panelists in various fields. These sessions cover a wide range of topics including branding, networking, marketing, podcasting 101, and more. By attending these sessions, authors and small business owners will gain invaluable insights to take their authorship and businesses to new heights. From building a strong speaking presence to mastering podcast hosting and receiving personalized coaching, these transformative events offer authors and small businesses the opportunity to be educated, empowered, and encouraged to surpass their current limitations.


After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, we are thrilled to announce that the Chasing Your Dream Book Tour & Expo is back and ready to make an impact once again. Our mission is to educate, empower, and encourage the next generation of readers and writers. We are determined to create excitement about reading and community involvement.


The AAALAC Chasing Your Dream Book Tour & Expo will be visiting cities near you soon, including Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, and New York. We encourage all authors, poets, and business owners to get connected and join us for this incredible event. We also invite the community to come out and support these talented individuals as they showcase their work and share their stories.

As I had my first battle with Thyroid Cancer in 2021, I just started doing things I dreamed of. I hosted several educational events and a successful Cancer awareness breakfast with an associate of which we honored the many types of cancer warriors. No doubt the most challenging thing in my life has helped me become the most successful. Today after round 2, and being hospitalized for over 20 days, from complications of this Thyroid cancer journey I am looking forward to my next chapter and would love to share my story. Outside of hosting, here are several nooks I've self-published, available on AMAZON.COM and local and a few DFW libraries and bookstores.
My first novella: Holding on with both hands. Speaks about a young girl surviving this world to become a woman, adults only, RAW REALITY- FICTION.
2. TAKE HEED - The Southern Soul with a northern appearance cookbook including survival skills geared towards young adults.
3. A journal
