Dr. Kimberly Thomas’ involvement in the community merges both her academic accolades and spiritual reverence. As a licensed and ordained pastor, she serves as Overseer of Destiny Church of God International, Inc. in Tallahassee, where she founded Daughters and Sons of Destiny Outreach Ministries, Inc., a non-profit faith-based organization that provides assistance for the homeless and less fortunate. As a bi-vocational pastor, she also works for the Florida Department of Corrections, a job she has dedicated 25 years. Currently, she acts as the Correctional Service Administrator for the detainer section. Additionally, she works as the immigration customs enforcement coordinator, interstate agreement on detainers coordinator, and governor’s extradition coordinator.

She is in the service of helping others no matter their circumstance, and her multiple degrees highlight this intentional career path.  Dr. Thomas earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Florida State University, her master’s degree in Theology and Christian Counseling from Liberty University, and her Doctorate of Christian Education from Trinity Theological Seminary and has also received an honorary doctorate in Theology from Clarity University.

As her degrees make evident, her many accomplishments continue to demonstrate her role as pastor and advocate, such as her work in organizing the first “Another Cry Save Our Youth from Violence” Foundation in 2007,  the foundation that continues to promote the safety of youth against gangs, violence, drugs, and HIV/AIDS. In 2014, she was appointed to the State Board of Directors for One Church One Child, an initiative that advocates for foster and adoptive homes of nearly 800 children in the Florida Foster Care System, and more recently, she co-chaired the One Church One Child Florida Christmas Toy Drive in 2016.

Awarded the 2009 Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency Distinguished Service Award in Corrections and the 2014-2015 National Association of Professional Women VIP Woman of the Year, Dr. Kimberly Thomas proves again and again that pastoring is a fulltime job even when addressed by varied professional titles, and her work towards advocacy and faith warrants her honor as a trailblazing woman.

Dr. Thomas is the author of “Freed from Broken Beginnings”, “Effective Prayer Manual”, “And What Did God Say About It, Bible Study for everyday living”, “Principles to Kingdom Living”, in addition she has also co-authored L3 Learn, Love, Lead 121 Days of Prayer Psalm 121.
