AAALAC 🌟 Celebrating an Inspirational Queen for International Women's History Month! 🌟 Tabatha “Ma’ta” Crawford

Today, we want to honor an incredible queen who has created and left a lasting legacy in her community. During International Women's History Month, we salute Tabatha "Ma'ta" Crawford for her unwavering dedication and extraordinary work.

Born and raised in some of the poorest black communities in Greenville, SC, Ma'ta overcame the challenges and hardships of her upbringing to become an exceptional mother, wife, daughter, sister, and business owner. However, she didn't stop there. Recognizing her purpose in life to serve and give back, Ma'ta founded and directed Community Fresh Start (CFS), a 501©3 organization, in 2018.

Through CFS, Ma'ta advocates for and assists the challenged residents of Greenville by meeting their physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Unlike many organizations, CFS goes the extra mile by serving people where they are and building resource teams to bring the necessary support directly to those in need.

For almost a decade, Ma'ta and her dedicated team of volunteers have been providing "the front door services" to friends and neighbors in communities all over the Upstate. Their work has been made possible through the support and partnerships of other organizations, such as Live Well Greenville, Greenville Food Coalition, and Greenville Homeless Alliances, among many others. Together, they have created a strong network of support, empowering individuals and families to overcome their challenges with the village supporting them.

What makes Ma'ta truly special is her unwavering commitment to seeing lives change for the better. Through Community Fresh Start, she offers hope and a brighter future to those who may have lost it along the way. Her selfless dedication and tireless efforts have made a profound impact on the lives of the people she serves.

In addition to her incredible work with CFS, Ma'ta is also an accomplished individual. She holds degrees and certifications in various fields, including Community Health Worker Supervisor, Case Management, Marriage Coach, Drug and Alcohol Counseling, Small Business and Nonprofit Consulting, Notary, and Wedding Official.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ma'ta also enjoys various creative pursuits, including acting, modeling, designing, art, and writing. Her latest contribution, the "Grow to Eat Gardening Coloring and Activity Book," aims to encourage healthy eating habits and ignite an interest in gardening.

Today, we honor and salute Tabatha "Ma'ta" Crawford for her unwavering dedication, selflessness, and the lasting legacy she is creating in her community. She is an inspiration to women everywhere for her determination, resilience, and passion for making a difference. Thank you, Ma'ta, for embodying the spirit of International Women's History Month and for being a role model for us all. Your work with Community Fresh Start has transformed countless lives and continues to inspire hope and change within the community. We salute you and your amazing legacy. Keep shining, Queen Ma'ta!
