2020 #153-UP CLOSE & PERSONAL W/AUTHOR Pamela R Haynes

  



Pamela has over 30 years of experience working in the Criminal Justice System and she has worked in a variety of Probation Officer roles and settings, namely, as a court probation officer, case worker and as a domestic abuse programme facilitator. She became a Practice Development Assessor in 2002 working with Trainee Probation Officers studying on the Bsc Community Justice programme. Pam has been a guest lecturer at Hertfordshire University and she has previously sat on the Probation Studies examination board. Pam retired from her role as a Senior Probation Officer in 2018.


Pam aspires to write training programmes for criminal justice agencies home and aboard working alongside like-minded colleagues to develop a Caribbean response to managing domestic violence in the region, thereby, safeguarding survivors of domestic violence and their families. 



Awards- Winner of a Lift Effects Star Award June 2017 for her services in the Criminal Justice System.

Recipient of the Powerhouse Global Award for Author of Year in 2018.

A Black Excellence Author of Colour Award 2018.

Shortlisted for a BLAC award for Best Writer 2020.

Pam's debut novel Loving The Brothers was published on 8th January 2018. She had her book launches in London, Dublin and Barbados.

  1. What a wonderful woman who encourages and guides so many people. It is so fantastic that this book gives insight to some of the real scinario's that happen within the Afro Caribbean cultures concerning the journeys through domestic issues abuse and violence.
